At the start of fasting, join the government, Eid join Muhammadiyah, is that okay?

Ustadz can ask or not…
If fasting joins the government on February 19 but Eid prayers join Muhammadiyah on March 20 (29 days), is it permissible for ustdzah? Because the Eid plans in Jogja, the majority in the surrounding area, follow Muhamadiyah ustadz

Wa’alaikumusalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh

Ideally, he is consistent with what he follows. If he follows the government’s decisions from the start, then he will follow the government from the start.

But, if:

– in the area the average day is different from the government

– with differences that can still be tolerated, and do not make the fast only 28 days or 31 days..
– also with consideration to avoid slander and conflict with the family and community in the area where they are located,

then please… He follows what is happening in his area. To maintain ukhuwah, because ukhuwah must be visible and disputes are bad.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

Fasting is a day of fasting, breaking the fast is a day of breaking the fast, and Eid al-Adha is a day of sacrifice.

“Fasting is on the day you (Muslims) fast, Eid al-Fitr is when you celebrate Eid al-Fitr, and sacrifice/Eid al-Adha is on the day you sacrifice.” (HR. At Tirmidhi no. 697, Sahih. See Ash Sahihah No. 224)

Imam At Tirmidhi explained: “And some scholars interpret this hadith, they say: the meaning of this hadith is that fasting and breaking the fast are the responsibility of the congregation and the majority of the people (Muslim community).” (Ibid)
