Donate Blood to Sin Members

Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings? Permission to ask ust, If we donate blood in a public place and we don’t know whether our blood is being donated to an immoral expert or not? Do we get sins from evildoers who apparently get our blood? And what is the law on blood donation? Thank you 🙏🏻 (+62 821-1209-xxxx)

ANSWER

Wa’alaikumussalam wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh

Blood donation – which saves human life – is one of the good deeds, based on the generality of the verse:

Cooperate in truth and godliness

Help each other in goodness and piety. (QS. Al Maidah: 2)

In fact, it includes righteous deeds that have great value because they seem to preserve the lives of all humans, as in the following verse:

And whoever saves someone’s life, it is as if he saved all of humanity.

Whoever preserves the life of one human being, it is as if he preserved the life of all mankind. (QS. Al Maidah: 32)

This blood donation applies to fellow human beings, whether Muslims, pious, immoral, or infidels (except Harbi infidels).. To help people whose lives are in danger either due to illness or accident, of course the helper does not need to ask: “Muslim or not, pious or not”..help as long as you are still human.

When is it prohibited?

That is, donating blood to infidels who are fighting, like the Jewish Zionists today. There are also those who disbelieve, dhimmi, musta’an, mu’ahad, it’s okay… especially fellow Muslims.

Therefore we see that if donating blood does not cause harm to the donor, then there is no harm, just as there is no harm in asking a Muslim or other person to save the life of a person in need, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, if they are not fighters.

Therefore, in our opinion, if blood donation does not bring danger to the donor then that is okay, and it doesn’t matter if the person asking for it is a Muslim or non-Muslim to save the life of someone whose urgent need for blood is both Muslim and other, as long as they are not HARBI KAFIRS.
