How to slaughter animals in an ihsan way? (Bag. 1)

Slaughtering animals in a way that is ihsan or loving is something that is recommended in Islam. Unfortunately, this is often not understood by most Muslims. When slaughtering animals, Islam does not emphasize the aspects of halal things, but also pay attention to provide good treatment to animals, both before, when, and also after being slaughtered. In this article, we will discuss how to slaughter animals in an ihsan way as guided by the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

The order to do politeness is something that is held for every Muslim in every case, as told by the hadith by Syaddad bin Aus Radiyallahu ‘anhu, Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam say,

Because God wrote charity in everything and let him go

“Indeed, God ordered to do good (manners) of all things. If you want to kill, then kill in a good way. If you have to slaughter, then slaughter in a good way. (HR. Muslim)

Sheikh Ibnu Utsaimin Rahimahullah explain about the hadith above,

God writes charity in everything; Namely, in everything, and he does not say: for everything, but for everything, – means that charity is not specific to something specific about life, but it is in all life

“Indeed, Allah ordered to do good (ihsan) to everything, meaning to everything. Not said for everything, but for everything. In other words, doing good (politeness) is not specific to certain types of life, but for all life. “

From the hadith above, we know that a Muslim is required to do Ihsan on every thing. One of the things that we as Muslims must do ihsan is as mentioned in the hadith, which is to slaughter animals. Animal slaughter is mentioned specifically by the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam After the mention of Ihsan in general, it shows the importance of we valid Ihsan when slaughtering.

Slaughtering animals is something that cannot be separated from the lives of Muslims. In addition to consuming animal meat, slaughtering is also carried out for worship activities. The worship activities are married for children born and also sacrifice in the month of Zulhijah when Iduladha and Hari Tasyrik.

Therefore, it is necessary for a Muslim to find out how to slaughter with ihsan to be able to slaughter well and not hurt animals. Do not let our rewards when slaughtering – like in sacrificial activities – become tarnished by the tyranny that we do for the slaughter animals or even make the slaughter animals not halal due to our ignorance.

Then, how to slaughter animals in an ihsan way? Of course, the slaughter of the ihsan must be started in accordance with the guidance of Islamic law. Therefore, to slaughter with ihsan we must start so that our slaughter according to the conditions of slaughtering in Islam. Sheikh Shalih Fauzan mentioned in the book Mulakhas Fiqhy that there are four conditions for the slaughter in accordance with the Shari’a. Among these conditions are:

The massacre must be wise and religious

The first requirement of the slices is reasonable and religious. Sheikh Shalih Fauzan said,

The first condition: the eligibility of the worker, to be Sane, with a heavenly religion, from the Muslims or the people of the book, so what is permitted by a crazy or drunk or a child is not permitated, because it is not valid from these people with the intention of smart. not in them, and what is not solved by an infidel, a fool, a majusi, an apostate, or a grave who calls the dead and seek the shrines and ask for the owner. Because this is a bigger trap

“The first condition: the massacre must meet the requirements, it must be wise and religious. Tamyiz. Because it is not valid their intention (intention) when slaughtering, because there is no reason in themselves. Not also halal slaughter of infidels, idol worshipers, majusi, apostates, and the perpetrators of shirk who pray for the dead, take refuge in the grave, and ask for help from residents of the grave. Because Ita’s actions are shirk. “

So it is important for all of us when choosing the butcher, that he is a person who is religious properly, especially when the sacrificial activity in Iduladha, which the committee has a choice and freedom to choose the butcher. Among the things that need to be considered is the prayer of the slaughter. Do not let us choose universities that are not praying, because the scholars disagree about the infidels of people who leave the obligatory prayers. The status of Islamic Islamic is certainly very fatal for the halal animals that are slaughtered. Sheikh Ibnu Ustaimin Rahimahullah said,

Being a Muslim, or in writing, if he is infidel, his sacrifice is not resolved, even if he is apostate; His sacrifice was not permitted, and in this case, he left his prayer, and his sacrifice did not come; Because it’s not Muslim or my book

“The massacre must be a Muslim or Bookman. If he is an idol worship, then it is invalid.

Use adequate tools

The second condition is the process of a slaughter using a device that can flow blood (sharp). As the hadith Rafi ‘bin Khadij, he said,

O God of envoys, we are enemies tomorrow, and we are not with us. He said, hopefully God’s prayer and peace is on him. And slander, and I will talk to you.

“O messenger of God, tomorrow we will meet enemies, while we no longer have a sharp knife?” He answered, “The massacre with something that can drain blood, mention the name of God, then eat, except with teeth and nails. I explain to you: teeth are a type of bone, while nails are the most commonly used tools from habitah (to be slaughtered).” (HR Bukhari)

From the hadith above, we can know that the slaughtering device does not have to be an iron bar, but can use all the things that can drain blood. Therefore, you can use bamboo or wood, stones, and such as those that can be increased except those made of bones and teeth.

Blood flow

The third condition is to drain blood by cutting blood vessels in the neck. The perfect massacre is a piece of four channels in such a neck. What are the four channels? There is the next channel (Hulquum), food channel (Let), and two blood vessels (Wawer). Slaughtering is said to be valid if it drains blood, namely the cutting of blood vessels.

Sheikh Ibnu Utsaimin Rahimahullah said,

Cut four there is no doubt that it is the first, the cleanest and smarter, but if it is limited to cutting the wig, it is true that sacrifice is permitted, and if it is limited to cutting the esophagus and throat, it is true that it is prohibited; Because of the Prophet, hopefully God’s prayer and peace will be with him.

“Cutting all four is not doubtful is more important and cleaner. However, if sufficient with only two blood vessels, then (in the opinion) that is valid that the slaughter is halal. If only the airways and eat, then (in the opinion) that is valid that the slaughter is haram. sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam Forbidding the slaughter of Satan, which is slaughtered without interrupting blood vessels in his neck. “

Say Bismillah

The fourth requirement so that the slaughter of animals can be said in accordance with Islamic Sharia and the meat becomes halal is to say Bismillah When to be slaughtered. Lord Story said,

And don’t eat from what is not mentioned

“Don’t you eat something from (animal flesh) that is slaughtered without the name of God. That action is a wisdom.” (Surah Al-An’am: 121)

Therefore, it is important for a preserver to remember to say it Bismillah a moment when it will slaughter.

That is the four requirements for the process of slaughtering animals so that it can be said in accordance with the Islamic Sharia and its meat becomes halal to be consumed by the Muslims.
