Reading the Prophet’s blessings of course worship, so read the Quran.

But if done in the mosque and in a loud voice that it brings up tasywisy (noise) and disturbing people who pray at the mosque are forbidden, some say makruh and even haram. Sheikh Sayyid Sabiq Rahimahullah said:

It is forbidden to lift their voices in a way that confuses worshipers, even by reading the Qur’an. Excluded from this is science.

“It is forbidden to harden the voices (in the mosque) which leads to the prayer sermon -Doa even though it is the Koran, excluded for those who are learning to teach the Koran.” (Fiqhus Sunnah, 1/251)

Sheikh Wahbah Az Zuhaili said:
