Ex -wife remarried, ex -husband is still required to support her child?

QUESTION:

Assalamualaikum ustadz permission to ask,
How is the status of a father’s living, whether it is still mandatory or not, when a husband & wife are divorced.
If the wife remarries whether the father is still required to support the child,
The status of the child joins his mother (wife) (+62 859-4773-xxxx)

ANSWER

Wa’alaikumussalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh

Still mandatory until the child is independent. Divorce does not eliminate that obligation.

Ibn al -Mundhir said: All those who keep knowing about him in a round voice agree that someone has the cost of his children who do not have money. There is no disagreement among scholars that the benefits are borne by the father without a mother, even if the mother is rich.

Said Imam Ibnu Mundzir: Ijma ‘from the scholars that it is mandatory for someone to support his children who do not have wealth. There is no difference in opinion that the obligation of living there is a burden on father, not a mother, even though the mother is rich.

Wife is married again, his new husband is good when he supports, but the law does not reach fardhu (obligatory).

If the child is able, then the biological father is not mandatory.
